HH Cie’s Ladeego, POA

(JK’s Citation X Hill’s Go Siri Dee)

About Ladeego, by Angelina Grayham

For those that don't know, Ladeego was born and raised on my parents farm in Salem. I started working with him when I was 14 and he was a weanling. I did all the training myself (this was the requirement "back in the day" for 4-H). We did a lot of showing through out the years. We were always in the top 5 at open shows, because he looks like a little horse. We were always in the blues at county and state fairs. We won medallions in showmanship at Marion County Fair for three years straight. We qualified for and showed in the 4-H State Fair for 6 years straight. We won the NW Regional POA show traveling trophy and brought home many, many other trophies, ribbons, and high points in the NW. In 1990 we won 3 world championships. My sister, Lauri, rode him in the same world show and won a world championship in trail and placed high in some very big classes after only riding him 3 times before! My niece, Savannah, rode him for 4 years in leadline and won most of her classes and many high points. He then became Kelly Nenninger's mount for several years. They took home tons of awards and also won the NW Regional traveling trophy twice. In the mid-1990's my mom started riding Ladee. Mom took him all over the NW and they won several awards and high points. He was then leased, and eventually bought, by the Kochis family. Their two children, Damion and Amanda each rode Ladee in 3 world shows where they won at least 15 World Championships and many high points and awards in the POA and Pony Clubs. This POA has been there and done it all! He even passed his 2nd level dressage and was on his way to 3rd level with his last rider. I’m sorry to say, I don’t know her name. We are sure that Ladee has his supreme championship, but will find out for sure later on this year. When the chance came to get Ladee back, my mom and I both were ecstatic! I always thought that he’d come back someday to be a mount for my children. And now Mom can go riding on someone she’s comfortable on! So once again I say WELCOME HOME LADEE!

Here are some pictures of Ladee “then”.

He’s a weanling here. This is after the futurity in 1983, which he won (he won the futurity every year for 3 years). This is when I decided that I wanted to keep him. He was just SO CUTE!

This was taken right before Marion County Fair in 1985. He was a two year old. We won Res. Championship in Showmanship.

This is after the showmanship leadline class with Savannah. She won, of course!

This was taken in 1987 or 1988, too. We had just received a high blue in Enlish Eq. at county fair and were headed back to the championship class. I used this picture for the POA magazine for the medallions he won in halter, trail, and reining.

This is my sister, Lauri, on Ladee in 1990 at an open show a couple weeks after the world show. She won several classes at this show, too!

1990 Lauri & Ladee2

This is from the 1990 World show. I’m pretty sure it’s after the Western Pleasure 19 & over class, but it could have been Trail. We won both and were high point for 19 & over.

Here are a couple of his and Amanda’s World Championship tropies in 2001.

This was in the Eugene, OR paper in 2002.
